Lush Mayan Riviera AI

First of all, I haven't been to what's now called the Mayan Riviera in 15 years. When I last went there were about 4 hotels between Cancun and PDC. Now there are so many places I don't know where to start.

Can anyone recommend an upscale AI that has activities for children? I've read about the Iberostars but was looking for something smaller. Lush is better than fancy and smaller better than tons of amenities -- don't need a spa but would love palapa. Thank you all!

Alexis,
My neighbors went to a place, I think it's called Xpu-ha, that they really liked. It might be part of the Palace chain.

The Gala in the Playacar complex is very well known as a family resort...

Look at The Reef Club Playacar. This is one of the smallest all inclusives in the area, it has lots of childrens activities and is very, very lush. More so than any other I've seen. This AI is a very good bargin.

You may want to try the Bravo Club El Mandarin. It is a great resort and there is a children's club. The food is good, the resort is fairly small with beautiful gardens and many palapa's. I am returning there in April of this year since I liked the resort so much.
