Lujan and the Pampas

Has anyone been to Lujan and can you go just as a day trip? Would appreciate any tips and other places to go in that area.
thanks

Luján is very nice.
I had been there 1 month ago. I also visited a little town near there (15 kms.) that itīs lovely. Itīs called Carlos Keen and this weekend there will be a wonderfull music festival. Check "La Nación" from monday 14/2/05.
Lujan has an extraordinary basilica, but was under reparations when I was there in January.

vickontour: is Lujan a place you would definitely think about as a day trip out of BA? We won't have a car, but will use public transportation.

In Plaza Miserere (or Plaza Once as its known) you can take bus nro. 52 (La Lujanera), there are two kinds of buses, one is the common one and the other is a little bit more expensive but more confortable and you will arrive very much sooner. In Lujan there are historical museums that are splendid for learning our history, the Basilica, you can also eat "asado" near rio Lujan (there are many restaurants alongside the river). Enjoy the visit! and sorry for my English.
