Hi! I am trying to plan a surprise 7-day trip for my fiance's 30th birthday in December. We will be traveling from Boston. This will be both of our first time in Costa Rica, and I'm a bit overwhelmed with where to start. A friend recommend Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort - it looks beautiful online, but I'm curious if anyone here has stayed there? The hotel looks beautiful, but I'm concerned about the beach. Any recommendations for excursions or restaurants in the area? Things you liked/disliked about the resort? The other hotel I've been looking at is The Westin Reserva Conchal All Inclusive. I realize these are in different areas and probably have different experiences. Any suggestions for one hotel or area over the other? Which area is safer, has more to do, etc.?

I have not stayed at either of these resorts, but our daughter stayed at Playa Conchal and loved it!
