Los Cabos

Has anyone stayed at any of the following hotels in Cabo?
Fiesta Americana, Finnesterra, Melia Cabo Real, Sheraton, Westin?
How about the all inclusives-Royal Solaris or Intercontinental?
I'm looking for a luxury property with a bathtub, not just a shower! Thanks!

We stayed at the Sheraton in August. It was fabulous. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub separate from the shower--it was delightful. Also has an infinity pool to die for. Sat in the outdoor jacuzzi at midnight gazing at the stars. Great rooms with big King beds, refrig, coffee pot, balconies. We will go back!

The Fiesta Americana, Sheraton and the Westin are the nicest of those you mentioned. The Finasterra and Cabo Real are also nice but not quite as much so. The Finesterra may be worth it if you upgrade to the Beachfront Palapa section (the other rooms don't compare). The Royal Solaris is hands down the nicest all-inclusive but it's in a very quiet area far from the action of Cabo San Lucas. It will cost you about $30.00 by cab each way to get to the town of Cabo; San Jose is close but very quiet. Keep in mind, very few beaches in Cabo are swimmable (the tide is too strong). None that you mentioned are on swimmable beaches although the Westin does a small cove where the water is calm sometimes. Playa Medano is the best swimming beach and it's right near town. Two good hotels there (on the level of the Cabo Real or Finesterra) are the Melia San Lucas or Villa Del Palmar.

I stayed at the Melia and liked it but I don't think it rates as high as the others. We loved the beach and the pool. We hated the food at the restaurants and ate in town everynight. We didn't have a bathtub- just a shower but we were in a normal room, I bet you could get them in a suite. I would absolutely stay here again because I don't like to eat at hotel restuarants for the most part anyway.

Forget the Finisterra! The place is nice and well maintained, however you get jumped as soon as you check in with time share tours - they have a desk set up in the lobby. While there I got sick. I tried to get a doctor through the front desk and they said they would do that, however they never did nor did they check to see if I was alright. They seem friendly but when push comes to shrove, forget it, you're on your own at this place.

Message: WATCH OUT FOR BAD THINGS WITH VIAJES XPLORA ADVENTUR. They are situated in the lobby of the Westin and at other resorts. They provide the packages for fishing and other excursions. The guy charged us one amount and then my credit card statement showed a price higher of $35. Then, they didn't take us on the full 4 hour trip and stole our fish. THEN, they stole $50 from my purse and credit card and charged an additional $175. Talk about "ah carrumba".
