Looking for the thread regarding MA best beach hotel...

I remember seeing a thread that talks about the best beaches in MA and recommended hotels to stay in, but I can find it now.

Please help!

Thanks :)

Also, would there be any reason to choose Tortugero over MA at the end of May. I think Torgugero would be much wetter...?

The nicest beaches in MA are the ones inside the park, particularly Beach #3. Biesanz is also a great little beach. as for hotels on the beach that are "great", they are few and far between. Neither Costa Verde or Parador are on the beach. Karahe is on the beach and is an ok place, as is Verde Mar. A very quaint little spot down close to the beach is La Posada Jungle.

Thanks for your helpful suggestions and links. I remember the link I'm looking for did mention the best beaches were within the park, however it also mentioned which hotel would be closest to that proximity. I'll keep searching, but thanks for the tips. I will check out the hotels mentioned :)

La Posada Jungle would be near to the park, as would Vela Bar. Its truly not a huge deal "Not" to be directly on the beach in MA, and in fact very few hotels are. Local buses pass every 15 minutes and cost about .27cents pp.(my kids enjoyed the short busride) Plus its fun! If I remember correctly you are on somewhat of a budget? maqbeach.com has a great list of hotels and maps indicating where they are located.

ps we went to the beach every day and were not in a hotel "on the beach".

Hi Faithie -- I agree we don't need to be RIGHT on the beach, I guess I wasn't super clear in my OP. I just wanted to be close to a SWIMMABLE beach if possible. But, you're right, some of the best fun can be had on the bus so everything will be fine! Thanks for the tips.
Yes, I was ORIGINALLY trying to go on a budget, but I'm sort of going middle-of-the-road.
I sent off some reservations requests yesterday to check availability so we'll see how that goes.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

swimmable beaches are the ones inside the park and Biesanz Beach. Only you pay to get inside the park now, $7 us. Kids are now free!
