Looking For Some Great Buenos Aires Restaurant

Hello. I will be in Buenos Aires Argentina during the month of April and I have heard great things about the restaurants there.

Does anyone have any good suggestings for finding a special restaurant with excellent Argentina beef?

Thanks a bunch.

Hello, it's me again. I hope I helped you out earlier about Tango Tours.

As for Buenos Aires restaurants, you are lucky because there are tons of great ones.

My personal favorite is Chiquilin for Argentina beef. The place has been around since 1927 and mentioned in a few Tango songs. However the wine is very expensive there. Not a big drinker myself.

I usually use a nice guide I found for restaurants in the city. It is in Spanish, but you can still get a an idea about the ratings.

TBN, I see you are already getting good help, but in case you would like more there is a great site with restaurant info www.saltshaker.net. It is operated by an American living in Buenos Aires. In addition AVRooster and Drdawggy have posted a number of excellent recommendations on this site. Do a word search for their screennames. Also check www.tripadvisor.com where both of them post along with some other experts. Be sure and post a trip report. I want to hear all about your visit...and your tango lessons.

i like chiqilin too, great traditional argentine restaurant, and a nice place to try beef for sure (especially their famous bife de chorizo). its located on the corner of sarmiento and montevideo, just off corrientes.

i also like "el establo" for beef, especially a lomo steak, a great restaurant on paraguay 489, near plaza san martin and florida shopping street.

guiaoleo is great, i agree. but i can never get saltshaker.net to work, in fact it freezes up EVERY computer i try to open it on. just a warning, i´m sure it could be good if i could open it safely.

my Favorite is El Mirasol, so good!

Also Cabaña Las Lilas but expensive.

El Mirasol gives you a cool little scroll with a cow on it and a diagram of where various cuts of beef come from...so you can learn while you dine. They also give you man-sized helpings of everything, including steak....yum, just thinking about El Establo and El Mirasol makes me want to jump on a plane today and head back to Buenos Aires.

The problem with my site loading seems to be limited to certain builds of Internet Explorer, and its interaction with WordPress software which I use to run the site. I've heard the same from others who use the same software. Unfortunately, no one seems to have come up with a fix, other than suggesting using a different browser than IE, or making sure your version is completely up-to-date, which also for most folk seems to fix it.
