Looking for a charming beach hotel in Akumal
I'm looking for a charming place to stay on the beach in Akumal. I want to be able to walk out my door and onto a swimming beach and stay in the water for days.....and I guess some goood food to keep up my strength. Any suggestions? Serena

Hello,<BR>Check out locogringo.com. Lots of options - all great!<BR>We have stayed in Villas on the Reef and Vista del Mar - both wonderful.<BR>Very reasonable and right on the beach.<BR>Be sure to get one of the places that has a balcony with a hammock.<BR>A good book, an ocean view, and heaven!

Check out this site. http://www.hotelakumalcaribe.com/<BR>We have stayed there two times, once in the bungalows and once in the hotel structure. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful and the restaurant is excellent. Eme if you would like more info.

Try the Oasis Akumal. It is an all inclusive. The beach is incredible and the snorkeling is incredible. All right out your door. You must ask for a condo room when you check in though (if available). The food was just average and the drinks were just average, but the beach and the water made the place. Its not too terribly expensive to stay there so you could go elsewhere for dinners and just eat your breakfast and lunch there. Great pool in the back in the jungle. Any questions about this resort just ask. It is a 3 star, which i believe is because of the rooms, i would not rate them luxurious, but who spends a lot of time in their rooms.

Serena,<BR><BR>If you want to travel a little further south (about 10 minute drive) check out our web site for Casa Tropical in Tankah. We are located 3 miles north of the Tulum ruins and situated on a private 1/2 acre beachfront property. Great views with barrier reef just offshore, and Manatee Cenote just a walk up the beach for diving, snorkeling or swimming, jungle style. Two guests quarters with kitchenettes, private patios, maid, gardener, manager. Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve is just south of Tankah and Tulum. <BR>http://CasaTropical.com<BR>photo of tankah's cenote'<BR>http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smithsonian/issues98/apr98/diver_jpg.html<BR><BR><BR>photo of tankah's cenote'<BR>http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smithsonian/issues98/apr98/diver_jpg.html<BR><BR>
