Leaving soon (6/29) for quick first time trip to Cabo San Lucas; any tips?
I just decided last night (found a decent flight) to join several friends who go every year to CSL. They are all already there and I fly in five days from now, for 4 nights.
They stay at various time-share resorts (Pueblo Bonitas, I think Sunset and Rose...have to check at home). I kind of know what to expect from talking to them, but have never been to Cabo.
I am more of an independent traveler, always make my own arrangements and seldom stay in resort-type hotels. I usually go to Europe/Asia; as far as Mexico, I have been to the PV twice and really enjoyed it. However, part of what I enjoyed was going into town to wander around, going to the markets, and renting a car to drive north to Nayarit to see some smaller towns on the coast...
So, while I am looking forward to 4 days (w/ lodging 'treated') to relax and enjoy my friends, I am looking for tips for one day (or two half days) of things to see/do besides sit by the pool, soak up the sun, and have some cocktails. I like walking or hiking, art, food, local culture, history, and scenery.
Any thoughts?

Just back and actually had a wonderful time. Did not get out of Cabo San Lucas, but managed to cram a lot in (incuding catching some huge fish with the girls - our first time ever out for real sport fishing!). Weather was great, full moon lovely, people friendly, food good, and the ocean beautiful. Just what I needed.
