Leaving March 19, help!
 

We are two college students who have 12days to travel. I was wondering what do you think is the best itinerary to do? We are going to Alajuela for 3days since my family is there and we want to see the Easter procession, then go to volcan poas, and the cafe britt coffee tour, I also want to go to Sarchi for the oxcarts, then go to manuel antonio for 4days to relax and go local. are there any hotels u recommend in these areas so that I can look at them? Ive seen a lot, but want personal reviews. also, how much do u think i should take for spending money, im only buying some ethnic items, hammock, some souvenirs, no tshirts or other useless items. if u can help me, id appreciate it. thanks!

i also forgot to ask, I want to do ziplining tours, are there weight limits that you know of? i dont want to suggest it to my boyfriend who's 5'10 and about 330pounds.

Someone posted recently that one of the ziplines has a weight limit of 250 pounds, but I don't know if that's universal. I'd check with the specific company that interests you, maybe look at their website.

While you're near Poas, you might want to check out the La Paz Waterfall Gardens; we loved hiking to the 5 waterfalls.

In MA, we stayed at Mango Moon; Costa Verde gets good reviews also. Maybe check out Villas Nicolas.

I agree with La Paz Waterfall gardens. It is conveniently located near Poas Volcano and has so much to offer.

As for the canopy, the lines can support a guide with another person at the same time if needed because some people are just too scared to go alone. So if you think of a 200lb guide and another 150lb person, i think your BF should be able to go, but check with some of the tour companies before you go.

As for spending, i think $50per person per day is appropriate for food and tours and maybe a couple souvenirs. My BF and myself mostly eat at local Tico restaurants and $10-$15 is enough for both of us for one meal. $20-$30 will feed two people at a nicer establishment with beers or cocktails also.

Try to see the Easter procession in San Joaquin de Flores. I've never been able to be there at Easter, but they have a procession that is known all over the country. My time there has always been in June and July. . .

Skip Cafe Britt and check out the Doka Estate Tour ON THE WAY to Poas. . .very convenient. Humberto at Hotel Villa Bonita will get you on your way with very simple directions!

Manuel Antonio. . .I'd suggest Costa Verde for a good value and great views, but most hotels are likely to be filled already. . .I wish you well in finding a room during Easter! Better get started with the reservation process ASAP!
