Leaving in 3 days!...

Am leaving early friday morning and will be spending 4 nights in Arenal area. Is it advisable to book tours before we leave? I was planning to wing it and book once we arrive, so we can coordinate with the weather.Any comments? (things like rapids rafting, canopy tours, hanging bridges, waterfall rapell...)
Muchas gracias!

You should have no problems booking tours after your arrival to Arenal. Our hotel (Arenal Lodge) took care of all our tour bookings for us. They had a book at the front desk with many of the tours described and they will also give you recommendations. Ask several people though, I think they may get a little kickback for recommending certain ones.

Should have told you about our tours. So here it is in a nutshell.

Arenal hanging Bridges: Loved it and would recommend it.

Arenal Volcano Tour: Loved it and would recommend.

Arenal Canopy Tour: The whole family thought it was a waste of money. We regretted not having done Skytrek since we were looking for more adventure after having done the nature stuff.

Hope this helps and have a great time!

wgb1-- thanks for the feedback! I'm sure we'll have a blast.
Can you elaborate on the Arenal volcano tour? Thanks,
Lori

Try the night tour in town at the Eco Park you'll see animals you never see during the day.

Please follow the link for better info than I could give.

The neatest part of the hike is hearing the pyroclastic flow coming from the volcano. There are fantastic views also from down below of course. You are forbidden to go up on the volcano at all. Maybe a couple of kilometers away is as close as you get.
