Last Minute trip to Costa Rica
HELP !!!
I dont have much time to plan our trip. We will be 3 - 2 adults and our 16yo son.
We have already been to the La Fortuna/Arenal area - so dont want to repeat. Hubby and I have been to MA and Monteverde ages and ages ago (circa the 90s!) and would go back.
We have 5 nights.
Flying in and out of SJO
Biggest priorities - wildlife, awesome lodging, eating yummy food, not flying on small small planes (fine with renting a car.)
Would love to get to the Osa Peninsula - but I don't think we can make that happen without flying there (yes?)
Other perks - hikes, yoga, spa time .....
Welcome to any and all ideas!!!
Thanks!!!

I don't think you have enough time for the Osa Peninsula unless you want to spend all your time there. You would have to fly a small plane, which I actually think is part of the fun.
You could try the Arenal Area (La Fortuna) or around Manuel Antonio as a base and then travel around from there. Guanacaste has nice beaches but not a lot of wildlife so that's not really a fit.

You could drive to Dominical /Uvita and Manuel Antonio. Have you been to Savegre Lodge /San Gerardo de Dota? Could go down that way and back up the coast. It is colder since it's in the mountains but you can see Quetzals and they have a spa.
