Language school in Antigua

I'm planning a trip to Antigua, Guatemala in December and want to go a a Spanish language school. There seem to be a whole lot of them. Any recommendations?

I was looking for a school for my daughter in mexico and one of the posts mentioned: National Registration Center for Study Abroad (NRCSA) (www.nrcsa.com). THere information is a helpful beginning, look at the rankings they do it by type of person e.g. professional, college age, etc. I have talked with them on the phone make sure you ask for someone who knows the area you are thinking of. The only reason to actually book through them is the insurance (they told me this). I would consider the training of the staff, the types of people who chose that school, and the location compared to where you are staying. Good luck.
I'm going to Probigua - 4 hours one on one per day around $90 per week I think. Lots of people have recommended it and they were very helpful in booking.

A couple of years ago, I studied at Centro Linguistico Maya, Calle Poniente No. 20, Fax 011-502-9-320-656.
http://www.travellog.com/guatemala/antigua/clmaya/school.html

I had 1-1 instruction for 5 hrs a day and it was $145/week and that included a homestay and pickup from airport in Guatemala City. The school is one of the oldest and best and all the teachers are well trained and very professional.

There are at least 50 Spanish schools in Antigua and I'm sure all of them are good.

Buena suerte,
Sandy
