language school?
 

I'm a teacher looking to brush up my Spanish. Does anyone have suggestions of good language schools in Mexico?
I'm leaning towards central or south central Mexico (Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, or something like that) since I've already been to Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Isla Mujeres.
I'll obviously have to do this over the summer - am I crazy to consider spending hot summer months in Mexico?

Let me know if you're interested in information about schools in Honduras or Guatemala. Some wonderful options, most a fraction of the cost of Mexico schools and nearly always 1-on-1 instruction. The Guatemala highlands aren't too hot in the summer - heading back there to study in August. Happy trails!

Sorry don't know about language schools, but summers are not so hot if you are up in the mountains or colonical towns like you are mentioning.

Consider San Critobal de las Casas (fly into Tuxtla). At almost 7000 feet elevation, it will be one of the coolest spots in Mexico during the summer. The town is charming, full of culture. Visited last April and am considering doing this myself.

I can recommend the IMAC language school in Guadalajara. The school is quite good, offers individual or small classes and is in the old part of the city, which I enjoyed tremendously. You can live with a local family or stay on your own....I stayed at a small B&B just a short walk away. Guadalajara is a beautiful colonial city and offers a lot of cultural opportunities. There are also opportunities to vist surrounding areas. Due to the high altitude, the weather is quite nice. I did a two week immersion.
