La Paz, Mex to San Miguel Allende

As a new member, I could use some advice, information if it's out there. In mid-june I will be in La Paz and would like to spend a couple of days in San Miguel de Allende, and don't know if this is realistic. I've searched travel by sea and air and have come up with nothing. I don't know when I'll have the opportunity go to Mexico again and would hope I can combine these two destinations. Thanks for any help.
Happy trails to all of you out there. sls

I'm no expert, but it seems like you'd want to fly. Or else it would be one long ferry/bus or rental car trip. How much time do you have?

The two places you picked aren't anywhere near each other. From La Paz first somehow you need to get off the Baja to the mainland (obviously). Does the ferry to Mazatlan still run?

The ferry/bus trip is long, but pretty inexpensive:
The La Paz - Mazatlan ferry has 4 classes ($174-$691.MXN), lv 15:00/arr 09:00 and the Primera Plus (first class bus Mazat-GDL ($372.MXN): 10 hrs and (first) GDL-SMdA ($322.MXN): another 5 1/2 hrs.
www.primeraplus.com.mx for schedules and fares.

What airport do you use to fly into San Miguel de Allende?

We use BJX (Leon/Guanajuato) as we end or connect in IAH (Houston)/DFW/DAL (Dallas/Love). QRO is/has been more expensive, but more convienient for some.
We're lv for China BJX-DFW-SFO-PEK and rt PVG via same.
In country MX flights are expensive and highly taxed.
