La Jolla de Mismaloya in Puerto Vallarta

Hello,

My husband and I have booked an 8-day trip to PV for early January '10 and are planning to stay at the La Jolla de Mismaloya.

We've been to PV a couple times before but never stayed at La Jolla. Does anyone have any special tips for us? Anything special we'd need to know about the resort - how about any "warnings?"

Would we take the local bus into town and how long does it take? My husband speaks pretty good Spanish and manages well in most situations.

It's been about 6 years since we were to PV last - any changes in activities or other that we'd need to know about?

Anything you could do to make our trip successful, is much appreciated.

Thanks!

I have never stayed at La Jolla de Mismaloya, but check the boards on Tripadvisor for more info. We stayed down the road a ways at the Intercontinental which was excellent.

The bus will probably take about 30 minutes to get into PV. Very easy to use and cheap. We ate in the Mismaloya village at Boca Bento. Very good food. They are located in the Casa Iguana hotel. The village has some tequila tasting and a zoo. Plenty of activities in the area. We loved the zipline trip with Los Veranos. Their headquarters is just up the river from your resort.

Have fun!

We stayed at the resort about 10 years ago and loved it. We visited it again in Jan. The beach was smaller, but well kept. The grounds are beautiful. I think it is all inclusive, now, which we don't like because PV has so many wonderful restaurants. The bus picks you up right by the front gate.
Have fun!
