Kailluum
Hi, I heard of this place several years ago.Anyone been here recently. Is it more developed?
Thanks,
Jane

Hi Jane,

Although I have never stayed at Kailuum, I've had dinner there several times in the past. The place is unique and the dinner was wonderful. I haven't heard much about it lately but it used to be "next door" to Capitian Lafette. http://CasaTropical.com

What exactly do you mean by "more developed?"

While I haven't actually stayed at Kailuum, I stayed next door at Capitan Lafitte a few weeks ago so I may be able to answer some of your specific questions. We ate dinner at Kailuum several times and toured the property. It was wonderful and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing, peaceful, quiet vacation. The staff is great and the website (www.mexicoholiday.com) features accurate pictures of the property. Plus the price is right!

We'll be staying at Captain Lafitte next to Kailluum first week of july.

any thoughts about safety?

what about tipping hotel staff?

Debra,
Thinking about staying at KaiLuum.Would we need to rent a car? Did you rent one? How much was it for about a week?
I know they will pick us up in Cancun, but we want to see some of the ruins. We have never driven in Mexico. Did you have any problems? Feel safe?
Is there perhaps public bus service that runs close to KL that we could use?
Thanks for any feedback you can give?
J

This place looks great, but is anyone else taken aback by the fact that they charge $140 per night, and you don't even get your own bathroom?
