Has anyone figured out why the large murals on the side walls of the Cathedral of Cuernavaca represent China? They were discovered some years ago under old paint, etc., cleaned and restored. But they do not represent Mexico; they represent China.

I'm going to Cuernavaca in July for 2 and a half weeks. What are some places I just can't miss? Also, I'm going to be taking a bus from the Mexico City airport to Cuernavaca by myself (there will be a group waiting for me in Cuernavaca). How easy is it to get around the airport? Did you go by bus and, if you did, was it easy to find the bus station? How far is Cuernavaca from Mexico City (some books say an hour, some say more)? I'm really getting excited about my trip and would like to hear as many good tips as I can. Thanks!

I had a private transfer from Mexico City to Cuernavaca. The air port is large, but easy to navigate.
The issue is not how far, but the traffic. It could take an hour just to get out of Mexico City, and then 45 minutes or so to Cuernavaca. Most taxi drivers do not speak english, I would have a detailed map of your ultimate destination with you.
