Where did you stay in Arenal? Impression of Tabacon?

Thanks Rogfam! Can you recommend some canopy/hiking tours to do in Arenal and Manuel Antonio?

We stayed at the Tabacon Resort Hotel which was excellent. Across the street from the Hot Springs, and since we were guests at the hotel, the price of enjoying the springs was included in our room rate(It would have been $29 pp). We had an excellent view of Arenal from our balcony, but by the evening, the clouds rolled in blocking it.
Springs were a lot of fun. Many different springs, all beautifully landscaped. Locker facilites, plus a very nice restaurant the overlooks both the springs and Arenal.

rogfam - that's nice to hear. This board has so many mixed reviews on actually staying at Tabacon (musty rooms, etc.). We are staying there in May, so glad to hear that it was nice. Looking forward to soaking in the springs. Is it necessary to still use the locker facility despite having a room there?

LvL,
We did the Sky Trek canopy tour in Monteverde. Had read that it was the best in CR, and they were right!! 10 different lines, the last one nearly 1/2 long which crosses the continental divide. Had the time of our lives; even looked down once or twice!! Very professionally run. A man who was blind was part of our group and it was great how well they worked with him.
We didn't do any hiking in Arenal, however, did speak to people who had hired a guide and up close to the lava flows.
Took a day trip from our hotel in Jaco to manuel Antonio Park. Famous for their white face monkeys, but only saw a few during our hike. Beautiful white sand beaches at the park also. Well worth the visit.
Enjoy!!
