Just saw a big property for sale online in Carate on the ocean and lagoon (?) with a few buildings and restaurant for a mere $1.9 mil US. Maybe we could start a pool and all chip in.....

pocket, do not go to BdC in October. I asked Phillip, one of the guides there about October, and he said it can rain there for days without letting up. Sometimes parts of the property go under water. He actually leaves the country then to visit family. You'd be okay in June, July, etc. but I would give October a pass for the Osa.

thanks volcanogirl. I had no idea BdC got that much rain in Oct.

pocketchart - here's a good link for Puerto Viejo with info on the weather for Oct - http://puertoviejosatellite.com/weather.php . You may be cutting it close but Sept and Oct are supposed to be nice there then. Especially good snorkeling in Oct. I didn't find as many monkeys though on that coast.

Really gorgeous photos wasigan. I touch bases occasionally with Colin at Banana Azul who posted them over on TA as well. You captured both areas beautifully!

Thank you volcanogirl and wasigan for the info! I guess I will leave Osa for my next trip. Is Tortuguero worth a visit or have the tourists scared away all the wildlife?? Thanks again!

Tortuguero is wonderful. Really abundant wildlife - we just got back and saw crocs, caimans, otters, toucans, 3 kinds of monkeys, blue morphos, blue jeans frogs, and the sea turtles. We love Tortuga Lodge, and I know hip liked Turtle Beach. We stayed for two nights, and that was about right.
