June to August etc
Hi all,
Are these okay times to go to Mexico and Central America weatherwise please? Thanks in advance |
That is a huge area.
Are you familiar with weatherspark? They have good annual charts for sun, rain, temperature, etc. In general, I would say not really a great time. |
That's hurricane season for Mexico and other countries, also very hot. For Costa Rica, the rainy season tends to go April to Novemberish. You can get some good discounts.

Thanks for the replies, we want cool places (weather-wise) places in these months and not Africa (as we are from Zimbabwe!): would appreciate any advice?

Does it have to be Central America?
Ecuador and Peru are good in those months. |
Stick to the mountains. I've been to Mexico City, Guanajuato and Queretaro in August and did not find it unpleasantly hot.

Once again, agree with Fra D. I live in Mexico's central highlands and the temps are very pleasant. 22-25 C are typical highs. It is the rainy season, but that just means a brief, but sometimes strong shower in the afternoon. And not necessarily every day. Everything is greening up nicely. The first week of June is typically the end of the hot season. If you stay away from coastal areas you won't have to worry about hurricanes. Besides, coastal areas are brutally hot and humid that time of year. I've only been to Guatemala once in June and there was a lot of rain. But very comfortable temperature-wise.

If you're interested in Costa Rica, you could check out Monteverde. It's at a higher elevation and stays much cooler than the coasts.
