Jaco restaurants

I will be staying at Los Suenos in Feb. I've stayed there before about 2 years ago. I'm looking for a restaurant recommendation in nearby Jaco. Jaco is developing a bad reputation, but I'm sure there are some good restaurants in Jaco. Fodor's Guidebook dosen't provide any help. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Tripadvisor has a huge list complete with ratings if you want to check over there.

Lemon Zest absolutely (dinner only), PiliPili (dinner), Adventure Dining (heard it was good, not yet tried). Paparazzi (authentic Italian), Bubba's on Bonio (beach bar/great fish tacos), Caliche's Wishbone, Tsunami Sushi, Rioasis (pizza with various toppings), El Hicaco (on the beach, all you can eat seafood fest every Wed. night), Graffiti Wine Bar (great little plates/fantastic dinner). Jaco has some great restaurants ... no worries there! Please feel free to write if you have more questions, happy to help! Lisa

Thanks. I have looked at Trip Advisor. Unfortunately I am concerned with the multitude of very high ratings. When I was last there I visited El Hicaco. It was nice, but very expensive, and the service that night was not great.Really enjoyed El Pelicano, but it's not listed. It's more of a local place I assume. I'm looking for some personal recommendations. Any great recent experiences ? I am surprised that the 2012 Fodors dosen't provide any listing. Thanks again.

Sure jeterray, I somewhat gave you the entire gamut since I wasn't sure what might and/or not suit you. So let me cut that list down a bit ... if I had a limited time in Jaco, definitely Lemon Zest, Paparazzi (dang good Ital, not super fancy), Graffiti (but I am a wine lover). Pelicano is listed under Playa Herradura on TA. Not one of my favs. too $$ BUT give Juanita's a try just a few doors down. Better prices, very local. I've been to each of these in the last month, and all are my go-to's as consistently good. Hope it helps!

For breakfast and lunch I say stick with the soda's. Good healthy food for cheap. I haven't been there since 2005 so I don't know what the restaurants are like.
