Isla mujeres restaurants ideas?
 

We are headed down in July. We enjoy the local food scene. Traditional mexican and fresh fish would be two requirements, not necessarily at the same place. All opinions are welcome and I am thankful.. We are also staying at the Maria Del Mar. Any other suggestions would be fun.

I'd just poke around and see what tickles your fancy.

I've always liked Zazil Ha because I can sit on the swings in the bar and dig my toes into the sand while I eat and drink...

For good Yucatecan food at cheap prices, I always head to Miramar, which is about 10 yards from the main ferry docks. It's beat, but it's casual, friendly, and down to earth. They have an excellent sopa de lima, great fresh fish, and they serve ice cold Leon Negra beers -- it's nuthin' fancy, but it's also decidedly real and decidedly Mexican.

LOADS of information on transportation, hotels and FOOD!

There are some good places to eat on IM, we expecially like the Caribbean Cafe (on Hidalgo), try their mango coconut shrimp - it's spicy and delicious. Also the Red Snapper has really good seafood (on Hidalgo). The Sunset grill is a must at lunchtime or sunset watching the ocean and sharing nuclear natchos is a real treat (Playa Norte). Not local food, but good and inexpensive are Bistro Francais and Pizza Rolandi.

Along with Bistro Francais you must add Amigos to your dining list. These are both basic tourist class places with reasonable prices and great food. On the upper side price wise you can try Casa O's, Villa Rollandi, and Na Balam
