Isla Mujeres- Casa De Los Suenos

Hi, has anyone stayed at or have information about Casa De Los Suenos on Isla Mujeres? We like small boutique hotels and are torn between that place, Villa Rolandi or Secreto. Thanks!

Wow, what a tough choice to make! I'm sorry I cant help with Casa De Los Suenos as I know you are specifically asking about that place, but I'd like to give my two pesos about the other two.
My In-laws stayed at Villa Rolandi and loved it! Especially the private jacuzzis. My husband and I had a great dinner there, and the place is beautiful and romantic. What I didn't like about Rolandi and would not like about the Casa is the location. They are both located on the south side, away from most of the restaurants, shopping and the best swimming beaches. You would need to taxi or rent a golf cart (or take a local bus) to get to much of the best that Isla has to offer, including beautiful north beach for swimming. For that reason I would take Secreto in a second. We LOVED this place. The rooms are bright and clean and we really enjoyed the CD players in the rooms. Nice to play some soft music and sit on the decks gazing at the most beautiful 'secret' cove. It's also just a very short walk to the best beaches and restaurants. So we rented a cart for a day to explore the island and eat at Villa Rolandi's and Caso O's, but other than that we could easily walk everywhere, which saves some money and burns off some of the great food we had.
I read some reviews that the Casa has VERY expensive meals ($45 for lunch??) and Villa R's is not cheap either. You don't have a restaurant at Secreto but they have an 'order in' menu, and many many great places within a short walk, yet the property is still private and romantic. Have fun deciding for yourself! I would not turn any of them down, LOL!

My wife and I stayed at both places two years ago. Both very nice, very different. We split our time, three nights at both. In the end, I liked Los Suenos better because it's quiet and more personal. It is more independent, like a family business, whereas Rolandi is more corporate. The owner at Suenos and her brother are there for you all day, (for example, for breakfast you order whatever you want and they'll try to make it.) The pool is beautiful, honor bar you can grab beers out of, and an amazing restaurant just a short walk away under a huge palapa. It's fairly luxurious, but again, a boutique hotel -- sort of like staying at a really rich person's house. If you're looking for a Ritz type experience, Rolandi is the way to go. Food is not as good as Suenos, but dinner is included so you never have to leave. Both are on the quiet side of the island. Any more questions?

If you want advise on Casa de los Suenos and Secreto - contact Boutique Hotels of Mexico and try to talk to Sylvie - she's the director and has probably been to both. Certainly she can answer your questions and help you choose... they can also help you with your reservations and any other special requests.

Does anyone know if Casa de Los Suenos is undergoing construction right now? It sounds pretty amazing, but I have no interest in going to a work zone. A posting on tripadvisor was worrying.
