Isla Mujeres - best resort with swimmable beach?

Don't care how expensive, just want a nice resort with a beach you can swim in, or a good swimming pool - any suggestions? Love the look of Villa Rolandi but I understand the beach is no good for swimming. For myself & husband, trying to avoid a loud, party atmosphere. Thanks.

Na Balam would be my pick, if you want to stay CLOSE to that swimming spot.

It's on Playa Norte which is an outstanding beach.

Of course there are plenty of good options within easy strolling distance of Playa Norte, including Playa la Media Luna, which is a very nice boutique property.

Have fun!

I just got back from Playa Media Luna on Isla. Wonderful. Can't wait to go back. The pool is fabulous, though it's not huge - not good for laps, just lazing around. The beach there is unswimmable, but it's so close to the best beach - North Beach - that it shouldn't be a factor. The scenery and the privacy/tranquility at Media Luna (and its sleeker neighbor, Hotel Secreto) are worth the short walk to the North Beach.

Check out the new Ixchel condos on islabeckons.com. I'm sure they're the nicest accommodations on North Beach now.

If you want to be within short walking distance of a nice beach, you simply have to stay on North Beach or at Media Luna or Secreto.

Have a great time! We are all still mooning over our trip a few weeks ago. It was fabulous.

I'm getting a little confused -- are there ANY nice rooms directly on a swimmable beach or do you have to walk to all of them? We like a ground-floor room from which you can straight into the ocean for a serious swim.

Na Balam is right on the beach. But, Media Luna and Secreto are so close, and to my eye, so much nicer. I'd much rather make the five minute walk. You could also look into Nautibeach Condos.
