Irish Chics need advice
 

Hi everyone,
We are two thirty something Irish Chics travelling to Argentina in mid-November for just over 2 weeks...

We will want to relax at some beaches( after the long flight) ...see the Falls and BAires city...and whatever else you can suggest!!! Help us out.

I have been reading the forum messages and it seems that the Sheraton at the Falls is the place to stay even if it is a little pricy.

We enjoy nightlife and need some recommendations...for centrally located safe accomodation.

We would like to spend no more than 200 pesos per night per room generally...cheaper is better! :-)

I have been looking at the 4 Kempinski Hotels on the net...are they all Air- Conditioned and has anyone stayed there or can reccommend somewhere better?

www.hotelbelair.com.ar. this is a great Buenos Aires hotel in the price range you mention. Very near Gran Bar Danzon, a trendy wine/sushi bar in Barrio Norte...

A couple of Irish chics might also enjoy the Kilkenny Pub and the Shamrock.

The Sheraton is THE place to stay in Igauzu, not because of the hotel but because it is the ONLY hotel with a falls view...close enough to permit leisurely strolls around the various circuts with breaks in between. It will cost more than 300 pesos though....

If you go to Iguazu, don't miss a day tour to the Brazilian side of the falls. I went there last year and the first day did the argentinian side..nice but I wasn't wowed. And also, prepare yourself for a LOT of walking. The next day we did a half day tour to the brazilian side and it was just incredible. It really made the trip worthwhile. The view is way more beautiful and you can really appreciate the magnificence of the place and the force of the waters.

You'll do much better staying in the argentinian side instead of the brazilian side and just make the day tour across the border to enjoy en brazilian side of the falls. Remember that for tourists the dollar/peso ratio is quite more atractive than the brazilian exchange so you'll definitely spend less money in accomodations in the argentinian side.

Hello! I have read all your post (mostly)...I was in buenos aires, like two weeks ago, I'm from Guatemala (30 years) ....I also visited, Bariloche, Villa la Angostura, cerro tronador and Iguazu...
really you do help people with the hotels, and all your posts are very clever ...actually I stayed in the sheraton (iguazu) thanks to one of your posts...
the only two hotels, you haven't mention and that I can referd to you from my trip.
1) I stay in park plaza kempinski and run out as fast as I could....fist I tought about sofitel, but then considering that I needed 4 rooms (traveling with friends and family) we took arthotel (arthotel.com.ar)(48214744) in buenos aires. Abuot arthotel is 100 times better than kempinsky for sure...of course is not a sofitel, but for (65 a king room is great); I mean new, friendly staff, internet in all rooms (very important for me), private bathrooms (I never read about any hotel with sharing bathrooms until know, maybe I am to snoby! sorry) ....breakfast was not that great...just the standard american breakfast (cereal, milk, bread, juices and so)...but really nice....it's and old building that have been remodeld to be the hotel.
then in bariloche I recomend you...hotel "sol del nahuel" (http://www.soldelnahuel.com.ar) (the manager in buenos aires) iis Liliana Bataglia ....the hotel is beutiful, all the rooms facing the lake, with only 12 rooms ...really cozy, nice, pretty...underrated (just 125 us a night).
if someone need private tours or tours at all in bariloche .......iglutours where magnificet! really personal...the phone is 2944522742.
and then in buenos aires, I got the best taxi, his name is pablo, I don't know if he speaks English or not, but he is a gentleman... his cel phone is 1556134386.

Thanks. I will be in Buenos Aires again on the 8th of September and plan to check out the Art Hotel. It looks great, especially for the money. I usually recommend the Bel Air for a hotel in this price category, but they keep going up in their rates....so it is nice to find an alternative.

Kempinski Hotels. I don't know what to think. Some folks love em....many others don't, for the reasons you mention.
