Information for You about Buenos Aires

In looking for information about BA I found this website. www.economist.com/cities. It is part of the international news magazine. I thought I already knew all the good general travel websites but this was a new one to me. It covers about 20 cities around the world. I double checked it by looking up my own city (Chicago) and it was spot on with recommendations and practical information. Enjoy planning your trip!

Interesting Site. Thank You.

It also rings true for my city, Los Angeles.

The Encoomist City Guide to Buenos Aires is the best single source of reasonably up to date information regarding this marvelous city. Tons of practical information, from taxis to shopping. And the restaurant and hotel reviews are quite accurate, with a few very noteable exceptions....

and what are the "noteable exceptions" for BA? For Chicago of what I read I saw that the public transportion cost $1.50 when it has increased to $2.00 in the last year or so.

Doc: noteable?

Excuse the spelling error. Sometimes my typing gets ahead of my spelling.

Notable exceptions in my opinion:
These are minor, all things considered.
The Economist recommends a very select number of hotels in various price categories. Following their advice might well ruin a vacation, in the case of Design Suites...and reviews are very mixed regarding Castelar and Faena. No mention of the new Home Hotel or the Bobo, both of which are receiving lots of attention from the international press.

Tancat is a similarly poor choice for a business lunch in my opinion. I have eaten the recommended tapas twice, both times I have been keenly disappointed.

These are small quibbles. Overall, this is an excellent guide. I especially like the Insider Tips section, which provides a plethora of helpful tips. A couple of minor things, such as the fare from the airport to downtown, listed at 45 pesos is now 50 or more....again, very minor.
