The PDC message boards make it sound like most of the property is a long way from being completed. Personally, I'd hesitate to book there this winter. Jean

The grand opening is in 2 weeks - just wondering if anyone has been there recently to see progress or who have stayed at their sister property next door and were able to see how things were going. Not planning to go until April but excited to hear first hand info. Thanks!

I'm not famaliar with this place...but...just because a place is "opening" doesn't mean that construction has been "completed".

Judi, I am also looking to stay at the Royal Porto this April of 2005. I have a reservation made and it will be for my Honeymoon! Because it's my honeymoon, I too am VERY interested in comments from anyone who has stayed there or just has good info on the progress.

I've been reading lots of travel boards, and from what I can tell, yes they have had a section of rooms open for quite a while now, and I hear that the rooms are as beautiful as you have seen/heard. I hear many different rumors of when the "full" grand opening will be. I will guess over the holidays and in to January there will be a big push. I'm hoping that during that time, they will open the pool, swim-up bars, restaurants, etc. I'll keep my eyes peeled and report anything I hear.

I have just booked this resort for June. I am very curious to see if anyone has found any good photos of this place. The only ones I can find are just of the junior suite. Please post any info you have on this resort.
