Iguazu Falls (Cataratas del Iguazu)
Iguazu Falls consists of over 275 seperate waterfalls on the Iguazu River. One side of the river and waterfalls is Brazil and on the other side is Argentina. Many people see the falls from both sides, but unfortunately Americans are required to get a $150 visa to go into Brazil.

I feel like I just watched a film at the end of a Rocky and Bullwinkle episode. Thank you for the retro head rush.

rhkkmk, the March 2007 Lonely Planet book on South America, says that, from Ciudad del Este, you don't need a Brazilian visa to go through Brazil to get to the Argentinian side of the falls. There are non-stop buses to Puerto Iguazu.
They suggest however, walking to immigration and making sure you have the right exit stamps, and catch the bus from there.

Things change, as you know, so you would have to double check. In any case, if you have to pay, it's worth it!
