iguazu falls 2 or 3 nights?
obsessing a bit now. if we do iguazu for 2 nights that will be only 1 1/2 days. too fast? would it be smarter to do 3 nights?
|
I imagine the "2 nights that will be only 1 1/2 days" is because of plane schedules. Let's wait to hear from the Iguazú experts, but I guess you may want to use one more day in Iguazú, taken off whatever you ax.
Hey, nephew santiagov, the gentleman is waiting! |
Go for 3 , wonīt regret.
|
We spent 2 nights there and it was plenty of time. We arrived on the first flight from BA and had the entire afternoon the first day. We got out early the 2nd day. We did not go to the Brazilian side, not so much because of time, but the heat. We didn't rush around, did many of the tours and also walked around the trails ourselves and 2 nights -- a day and half-- worked well for us.

gee, your nephew makes it sound easy! (and, he listens to you!) also, thanks dona. i think that we'll go for the extra night...... check-out my next obsession, calafate,,,,,,
|
Calafate is nice , been there watched the glaciers and slept inside the Park
in one beautifull house from the guides of the Park that was lended to my group.Unfortunately impossible now. Its a must see but in my opinion not as breathtaking as Iguazu Falls. |
Bodhijack: Probably Iguazu will be very hot , try all activities in the early morning ,till 12am, think of staying at the pool of your hotel till 4 pm and start again till night. |
santiagov, again gracias! are you a travel agent, or can you recommend one besides wow! ?
|
Nephew santiagov is not a travel agent, but sometimes he sounds like one.
My travel agent's e-mail is [email protected] However I'm not sure how much English they know (in spite of the firm's name) and even though they function well for me, that may or may not be the case with someone else. |
Really loved the "added value" part!!!
|
Avrooster, how can one love something not known ? what do you mean ?
But if I wasnīt clear the point is usual private boat tours donīt offer nature interpretation , history and histories related to the Delta Islands and Biosfera reserve ( UNESCO) ( Did you know about the Biosfera reserve ?) This is what makes my trip different, more enjoyable . |
That's exactly what I meant.

The Arg. fall can be visited in a full day. you can even include some of the extra adventure activities. one day complete is enough. Get the plane that leaves early and you will open the gate to the park at 9:45 am. The park is opened till 6 pm Stay at the Sheraton, though more expensive, it gives tourists with short time the benefit of being there in front of the falls. Following day take the plane back, there are several to choose. i suggest the one at 5 pm if you want to visit the Brazilian side or just stay in the Arg. for several hours more. regards, milla |
Iguazu is just lovely and we enjoyed our three nights there. As you point out, three nights does night mean three days. Certainly it can be done in one day, but you would miss the pleasure of soaking in the beauty of the area and the trails. Since it is usually very hot in this area, rushing through the falls would have been uncomfortable for us. We spent our first half day afternoon walking the upper circuit and some time at the pool, our second full day doing the lower circuit, the boatride under the falls, walking the island, and the night-time luna walk to Devil's throat, and our third going to the Brazil side of the falls, visiting the terrific bird park across the street and visiting a true Guarani (sp?) Indian village.

Evelyntrav:
You gave a great tip for travellers! Falls should be visited with the time you took to enjoy the most. You may do it in a day and a half if rushing, but probably loose 50 % of the natural enchantment. Taste them as a good wine ! same as Tigre Delta Islands while in BA. Barbacharters Barbacharters |
