If park is closed on Mon. (Man. Anton), what are the other 'best' choices?

Will be traveling with my 78 year old mother. We'll have 2 full days in Manuel Antonio and one of those is a Monday. I'd love to do the Finca Valmy horseback, but am wondering how a 78 year old mother would do on a horse. Any other options?
Thanks much
Carrie

Possibly consider the Rainmaker Tour, suspension bridges and hike.

Also, boat crusises either out to try and see the dolphins or boat tours through the mangroves.

We spent one afternoon doing the Sunset Sail Tour which picked us up at our hotel between 01:00 and 02:00 and returned right after sunset. The whole time was spent on a large sail boat, stopped for swimming and snorkeling, they served dinner which was good and served drinks all afternoon. The sunset was pretty good. It was a nice way to spend 6 hours.

you might try the Damas Island Estuary boat tour. Sounds like a relaxing way to spend a half day and see many animals and birds. We wanted to do it but unfortunately just didn't have enough time.

I also enjoyed the Rain Maker tour, but I'm afraid the hike might be too much for your mom. I went with my mom (who was 65 at the time), and she's in great shape, but still found it a little tough. At least when we went, there were some pretty steep areas.

I also think the Damas Island boat tour is a good choice, especially if you can go late afternoon into early evening (the water is just beautiful at sunset).

The sunset sailboat tour is really nice. The boat is very nice (Tom Cat, I think). Not too many people on the boat (sometimes they just pack too many people on the tours). We saw a few dolphin & stopped for some snorkeling. Plenty of shaded seating if you need it. The food was OK.

I didn't care much for the mangrove tour (we did it in kayaks).

The horseback tour we took was good, but 2 hours on a horse was a bit too long for me.
