If not Si Como No then where?
We were very excited about the idea of staying at Si Como No but now I am thinking twice. I have had the MOST frustrating exchange of e-mails trying to make a reservation. I simply asked which buildings at the resort have superior rooms so that I can make a request (I know no guarantees). I have received about 2 different answers. When I finally thought they understood I sent the request and they sent me a ressie form with an amount $50 higher. She responded it was for the deluxe I requested. ARGH!! and explained some of the extra charged was for the extra person...I had already stated our child will be 5 and the website said under 6 are FREE. ARGH!!
Sorry to rant but this is crazy - it should not be this hard to make a reservation and this hotel is none to cheap. SO if I cannot get clear communication soon then I will be looking for another resort for our family of 3. What would be fairly comparable (not more expensive either) to Si Como No. I hope we can stay there but these ressie problems are pushing me away. Thanks. |

When are you going? I am just trying to figure out the rate. It can change drastically at some hotels, depending on the season.
Tulemar Bungalows would probably be a good choice for you. We send lots of families there. With an off season rate of $178.00 per night, you get an individual bungalow with a living room and kitchenette. Great for a family. Si Como No is a nice resort setting. But they do not have beach access. Tulemar offers a private beach, in a protected cove. It has gentle currents, and is perfect for a 5 year old. Hope this helps! Let me know if I can offer any more advice. Warm Regards, Pat Hewitt Travel Professional |
For what it is worth. . . .we loved SCN, but liked Tulemar better--for the $$.

I would agree that Tulemar is a great place to stay. I loved the private beach access and their property was very nice. Great monkey viewing right from your own deck too!

Si Como No is really popular with families and gets good reviews. I agree with everyone else that Tulemar would be great too if you don't need all the amenities that Si Como No offers - two restaurants on site, movie theater, separate kid and adult pools, etc. If beach access is important to you, go with Tulemar. I don't think you can go wrong either way.
