shillmac -- I know you have a "name" and would like it so I can tell your guide in PV who referred me to him. Can you please post here?

Everything is coming together, except I switched the order of Arenal and Peace Lodge.

Still not sure exactly how we will get from Peace Lodge to Arenal without having to go back to SJ to catch shuttle. Any advice?

Thanks!

hipvirgochick and shillmac: We too are booking at Villa Bonita Hotel with Carmen and Humberto! Staying before AND after our 3 Day Pacuare Rafting. Then onto 8 nights in Osa.
We are so excited to be able to spend some time with Tico family!!
Thanks Shillmac
PS We are going to try the recommended Peruvian restaurant.(have read some other reviews too)

shadow - I forget when your trip is...? Make sure to post a trip report when you get home! We would stay at Villa Bonita upon arrival as well, but we're taking an early Interbus to Puerto Viejo the next day, so it will be easier if we leave from the downtown area, I think

As you can see I gave up Drake Bay thoughts and added another night to BDC, in order to spend 2 nights at Peace Lodge. Hope I won't regret not having more time in the Osa!

I take that back. How could I have any regrets!

We are going to have so much fun!

hipvirgochick--
My name is Jill. And I do hope you get to go out for the morning with Abel. Such a great guy. He and I have birded 3 times now, but only once a year. Have him take you onto his property where there is some primary forest--we saw all kinds of good stuff there last summer.

And Shadow, so happy to hear you are staying with Humberto and Carmen---you certainly won't be disappointed. We'll be staying a couple of nights with them next month, and again in June and July. They are like family now. They certainly don't need my endorsement as they do very well keeping their 6 bedrooms booked, but I do think it's fun to get away from the Hamptons and the Marriotts and experience some Tico hospitality!

Humberto is quite a livewire, Carmen very sedate. They compliment each other nicely. We were fortunate last year to be at the hospital with them after the birth of their first child. It was quite a treat!
