HOW TO PLACE INTERNET LINKS IN MESSAGES

Hi, all -
Sometimes I paste a link and only part of it is "live" so interested parties can't click on it and go - they have to cut and paste. Any advice on how to get long links to be posted corrtectly? I know how to do this on other forums but don't see the buttons to push here. Thanks in advance.

Usually links are too long when you imbed them in your replies. Use tiny url. Take the tiny link you get and use it in your response here, it will work and it does not mess up the size of the Fodors page because they are never too long.
Hope this helps.

Cool site, but I can't "right click" because I'm a mac user - any tips?

when i simply type in a short, normal address it always goes live on it's own here, nothing special
www.casa-andrea.com for example

Yeah, for me, too. But sometimes I'm posting a travelogue url or the website to buy a travel item with long urls and they often come out part blue (live) and part black.

hopeful, I use a Mac...
hightlight the url, right click ( it works on my mac ) paste it into the tiny url space and then copy and paste the tiny url into your reply ... I have a fancy wireless mouse but I think all of them have the ability to right click, no?

Nope - no right click on mine....

now you are gonna drive me crazy lol

I will ask my daughter the computer wizard and if no one has helped you by the time I get an answer. . I will post it here..
How do you copy & paste without a right click?

hopefulist Feb 3rd, 2007 06:36 PM

You just put the curser on one side of what you want to copy, hold down the mouse, and drag it across what you want to copy. Let me experiment; here's my Honduras travelogue the long way:

and with a tinurl cut and pasted:

It worked both ways that time! Thanks for your help, Scarlett!

hopeful, this is SO great! I am so used to using the Dell, that I forget all about the dragging aspect of the Mac.
I am gonna do it !! lol Thank you!!
