How to get from Monteverde to Osa...Bosque de Cabo?

We are traveling in July, 2 adults, 2 children....16 and 14. What is the fastest way to get to Osa? We don't want to waste alot of time traveling. Should we try to get there in one day or make it a 2 day journey by road and stop along the way? Thanks, Kim

I would not advise driving. You will be going in the rainy season and the roads once you get down south might not be good. We did the drive from Nosara to Quepos in one day and then drove from Quepos to Bosque del Cabo the next day and will not repeat it. We had information from Puerto Jimenez about the roads and still found a washed out road that entailed a very dicey detour. It is just too long a drive and there are long stretches of no gas stations, etc. I would return to San Jose and fly. That is what we did last year.

How long is the ride back to San Jose? Is that the closest place you can get a plane to Osa? I was looking at the map and see an airplane symbol in Jaco...can you fly from Jaco to Osa? How long a car ride is it to Jaco?. Thanks.

Flights to the Osa area all leave from San Jose.

Thank you so much for the info. One more question....how long a ride back to San Jose...is it possible to get back and fly out in the same day?
