How rainy is the Green Season, on the Osa, in August?

Hi!

I was wondering how much rain to expect in mid-August on the Osa, and what kind of rain (all day long, stay in your cabina rain, torrential tropical rain, or don't worry about it rain :) ).

Thank you!

Hi, sparkle - have you seen this interactive map? It will give you a good idea of what to expect. We've been in July and surprisingly didn't get any rain, but I think we were there during that period they call "little summer" when it doesn't rain much. I would expect quite a bit of rain in August and completely avoid September and October based on what our guides told us.

Thank you Volcanogirl! I had not seen the interactive map before. Is there a really a "Little Summer"? I hope so, because I just booked for July!!!

Yes, there really is, but it's hard to pinpoint the dates. I was surprised we didn't get rain, but they kept telling us it was the little summer. It was great! September and October can bring all day heavy rains.

I bet that it is a little crazy and very dramatic in September and October!

Yes because you have to cross some streams to get to the property and they get bigger as the season goes on. Our guide said that parts of the property can go under water in October.
