How are things in Cancun this year? Is the airport renovation completed?

Last year, it took us nearly two hours to wind around the airport, go through immigration, and get our luggage. We were with a person with a walking disability and it was a nightmare. I said I'd never go back; never say never. We're going back in February. I also noticed last year that things were quieter, some shops and restaurants had closed. How are things in Cancun?

The last time I passed through, which was during the Christmas holidays, the wait at immigration was long--but probably partly due to the holiday throngs. The renovation outside customs is not complete but the shops and restaurants are complete when leaving Cancun, after passing through security. the area around the international gates is still being renovated and a mess!

Just got back and we had no trouble going through customs, getting our luggage and locating transportation to our hotel. Guess it depends when you go and what time of day you arrive. Was there over X-mas - New Year, arriving in early afternoon.
