Hotels in Panama City
 

Has anyone stayed at the Country Inn and Suites Downtown Panama City. NOT the CANAL Location. Their rates seem very good compared to a lot of Panama City Hotels. Around $55.00 per night including breakfast. How about Hotel Costa Inn or Hotel Paitilla Inn

I prefer the Paitilla Inn, regarding Country Inn some clients said that they like more Country Inn - Dorado than the Amador, in my opinion Amador has better view and both have the same services.

Also, if you are looking for economy, you can rent 1 apartment with 3 bedroom near to Miraflores locks for $43/night net.

The Country Inn & Suites in Dorado is nice. I enjoyed the location & it exceeded my expectations. I'd also recommend the Miramar, but it is a little pricey.

Is the Doral location close to what you want to do? It didn't seem to be a "downtown" location on a map that was given to me. Although, on the last part of our trip we stayed at the Caesar Park and it didn't bother us being on the "other side" of PCity. We loved the hotel and the price. Gorgeous pool, but being cleaned, so they took us to the Patilla to use the pool. Definately not equal. Its a good location, were advertising $49 night and $3.00/hr internet, but it the lobby was bright white and yet reminded me of being in a train station with the echoing of the loud noise.

We met some ex-pats who said that the Country Inn is a favorite of ex-pats...and the location seemed fine as well. We stayed at the Mimamar at the beginning of the trip, which is definately not a 5 star American, but the price was right during the week before Easter...and the pool beautiful.

I'll get out a trip report within a week or two.

I just spent Sunday night at Hotel Plaza Patilla. The room was $48 per night-had an ocean & city view- floor to ceiling glass windows. Large room-small bath. Good room service breakfast for $5.

Does anyone have contact info for paitilla Inn?(patilla???) Or do you just show up and hope something is available? I have reservations for a few nights in and out of other regions at the Country Inn and Suites in Dorado, simply because I didn't have a lot a time and wanted something secured. But, I still have time to cancel while there and move to another location and this place sounds great. Help with website or email appreciated.

Did you try searching for it on the internet, I'm sure the name will come up.

I was there (to swim only while Caesar Park pool was being cleaned). It was really really busy; reminded me of a train station. The internet "cafe" there is really inexpensive and large. I can't imagine just showingup there and hoping for a room, unless you have a back up plan.

We did not have reservations for Hotle Patilla- we just showed up. Our hotel at Bocas del toro recommended Hotel Patilla and they said we would not need a reservation. We did have to come back at 2:00 because we requested an ocean view room- other rooms were available earlier but we wanted water view. The check-out time is 2 pm which is nice!

Ok, is it Hotel Paitilla or Hotel Patilla? I had come across the Hotel Paitilla on a search before, but was a little turned off by the high rise look of it, although I can see where the views would be incredible. If this is the hotel of which we are speaking, and I have looked at their site, how far is it from the local airport and Dorado? I just can't figure these sections of the city out. I know where the Cangrejo district is, and Casco Viejo, but Dorado, Balboa, Amador causeway look to be in different places on the LP guidebook map and also Friars..various websites have not illuminated...I made a reservation at Country Inn and Suites in El Dorado thinking it was close to Allsbrook for an early morning flight out. Does the El Dorado section have any advantages over the view? That which I will have seen many times before needing to use these facilities? Ah, questions...Thanks for any enlightening replies to those less knowledgeable..

El Dorado is located in Ave. Ricardo J. Alfaro north from PC, El Dorado has two small mall near, 1 with a lot chinese commercial (restaurant, shop) the other with theater and bowling the area is short distance from Albrook dom. airport may be 5 miles (20 min. in rush hours) definitely more convenient than Paitilla Inn (11 miles - 35 min. approx.) but without any interesting view except for the small hill of the Metropolithan park .

the good news is some reviews of tourists prefer the Country Inn El Dorado instead of Amador

Thanks wapanda for the info and link. I'm getting a better perspective of the layout of the city now. Close to domestic airport was what I was searching for so I guess I made an ok decision to stay in El Dorado. Won't be there very long anyway, just a place to lay my head down and grab a bite to eat, before heading out ealy the next am. Thanks again!

If you like the Chinese food, I recommend you try Sunly Restaurant, they cook the best food around and the place is walking distance from the Country Inn.
