vg was it a big white building? I know when I was there last (2,3 years ago?) Tulemar was just starting an eyesore of a project. Too bad there seems to be no one in charge with keeping the construction in check there. I think both Issimo & MM look very nice, always though Si Como No was very overpriced, but that's just my opinion - never stayed there!

Re the tp....I've yet to encounter this in any hotels I've stayed in but have come across in a couple small places, like the airstrip in Quepos & the small grocery store near PJ airstrip.

On the piece of property where Karolas used to be is an 8 story monstrosity of a condo project. There was a lot of corruption/scandal with this and it was halted when we were there. As well on the road down to Parador just past Issimo etc. there is a huge project taking place, a few in fact.

Yes, faithie, I think that's the one. We heard good things about Karola's, and then we got there, it was completely gone, and there was this enormous hole and loads of construction equipment about - looked like when they build a big office building here. I really hate to see things changing...

tully, thanks for the info. on the "tp issue" - LOL; we just have never seen that anywhere else in SJO, Arenal, Osa, etc. but I've read it in other people's trip reports. Nothing compares to Greece where one of the restaurants we went to had a hole in the ground, and me wearing pants trying to figure the whole thing out! Ah, the joys of travel...
