Planning on 4 nights at Hotelito and then 2 nights at Casa Oblelisco! Has anyone been? Are we nuts????

HD sits on a lagoon and a strip of unuseable ocean due to riptides and big surf. So no ocean swimming and mosquitoes are free nightly.

Just got back.

In a word: Paradise. Spent 4 days in Palafito #3 on the beach. It had an outside bed, perfect for morning coffee. And, a relatively private outdoor shower.

The weather was perfect, unrelenting blue skies, pounding surf, pelican patrols. To the east (estuary) "Eden", the beautiful estuary, birds, mountains, palm trees. Temps were in the 80's during the day, 60's at night. The constant, light sea breeze decreases the "felt" humidity.

You are completely pampered. Coffee brought in the mornings, walking barefoot in the beautiful sand. A private, for all practical purposes, beach stretching miles. Marcello is an expert at massage treatments. If you want an expedition to swim/snorkel/fish, Horhe (sp?) can arrange such a trip.

All 24 units were filled on the weekend, didn't even notice. The food is good. Mostly very fresh seafood, well prepared. Fresh fruits and vegetables. A couple of steak meals to prevent burnout on the seemingly endless crab, shrimp, fish.... And, eggs, anyway to want them for breakfast.

Misc. We used Hotelito's shuttle service and were glad we did. It's a 2-3 hour drive from PVR to Hotelito. PV's traffic is pretty wild and the route a bit confusing. We had to spend a couple of days in PV because of flight connections using FF miles. Stayed at the Casa Amorita, a great B & B in downtown PV. We were "fooded out" after Hotelito. The street food vendors were surprisingly good. Especially the ones on the Malecon

Glad you had a good experience, still working out details. Will have to do the PV thing also.

hi50phd- Can you give us an idea of what activities were included in the hotel price (kayak, horseback ridiing?)
Also, what were the prices like for incidental things like massages and margaritas, etc???

Ahhh, just typing massages and margaritas make me want to be there now!

We found that there were a variety of packages in talking to the other guests.

Hotelito's website (http://www.hotelito.com/home.asp)would be a good source of this kind of information. Our package included four nights at Hotelito, one "romantic dinner" ( and it was), 2 massages and round trip transportation for 2 from PVR.

We picked Hotelito for its lack of planned activities. Didn't want folks "running to and fro" around us. As, I noted, Jorge (found the correct spelling) can arrange snorkeling and fishing trips in nearby areas.

Rather, we sat on the beach, mesmerized by the waves, enjoying the sun. And, we picked February because it is the coolest, driest time of the year. Most of the folks we talked to came for the same/similar reasons.
