The Splendor was formerly called the Phoenix and is on the corner of the Gallerias Pacifico in the downtown area. The hotel has been completely renovated.

While the rooms are nice, the one constant complaint about this hotel is street noise. It appears that sound proof glass was not installed during the renovation....

do you really like the Splendor renovation. ?

Milla

Since the Splendor is located in an historic building that is part of the Gallerias Pacifico, I wish the renovation had been consistent with the architecture of the Gallerias and the building itself..There are a number of minimalist/contemporary hotels in Buenos Aires...it appears this style is the rage, but sometimes this style is simply not appropriate....so,while I like various kinds of architecture, I am not thrilled with the direction taken by the Splendor...just my two cents worth. How about you, milla?

The architecture of the building is amazing as many other building in the city. The style inside.., far from consistent with it.
But this is only a personal opinion from sbody who does not like this new rage. I prefer other type of places and maybe a bit more traditional.

Milla,

Well, at least the Splendor is an improvement over the hotel that used to occupy the same space. The Phoenix was tired and run down.

I was hoping that someone would take this hotel and refurbish it in the same style as the interior of the Galleriaas Pacifico...but it didn't happen.

I actually enjoy minimalist hotels when the architecture warrants this style...such as the Sofitel Madero or some of the boutique hotels springing up around town...are less harsh contemporary such as the Regal Pacific...
