Hotel in Quito

We plan our trip to Ecuador in May.
Any recommendations on the hotel? Safety and location (close to tourist attractions) are our main criteria. Budget: $60-80 per night. Breakfast included.

Also, we plan to go for 3d/2n to Amazon, Yarina Lodge. Any feedback on that tour?
Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

We were in Quito in June 2006. We wanted a safe but not americanized or european style hotel. We really liked Patio Andaluz. It was in old town Quito which I preferred as "Modern" Quito is a huge dirty city. The hotel has a website. They were very nice, great rooms and wonderful restaurant. Breakfast buffet was included (omelets were extra)

Thanks.
I've heard that "old city" is not save at night. Did you feel comfortable with the area?

I stayed there last summer for 2 nights-1 nt before leaving for the jungle area and another night after returning. It was about $35 per nite and included breakfast. close to shopping.

We stayed at Real Audiencia http://www.realaudiencia.com/

I recommend this place, but do ask for a back room with no noise. We asked for a view room and got a beautiful room, but the traffic noise at night was a bit awful.

Its about $42, with breakfast

We stayed at the hotel antinea in old town quito and really liked it. About being out at night, we didn't have any problems there were security guards with HUGE dogs every where. A lot of the businesses rent them at night, including hotel antinea!
