HOTEL Help in El Calafate:
I am traveling to El Calafate in April trying to decide between Hotel Kosten Aike, Hotel Posada Los Alamos and Miyazato Hotel. Does anyone know anything about these hotels thanks

www.tripadvisor.com should have ratings reviews...
|
We are headed there later this month. After months of agonizing over where to stay, as there are SO many choices, we have decided to go with Miyazato. I couldn't get over the many incredible reviews on TA. Sorry, I don't have any personal experience yet, but as qwovadis recommended check out all the many reviews on Trip Advisor.

Thanks guys I appreciate your help

We'll be staying at the Kosten Aike end of March (we'll be back on the 31st), will write a trip report, if you can wait that long.

Let me know how Miyazato is I just made a reservation with them given the high reviews and low cost

We were in late November in Calafate and stayed at a small hotel, called "Los dos Pinos" (The Two Pines). It is a mixture of hostel with hotel. They have a new building (in November they were still putting some finishing touches in it), beds and mattresses were nice and new and comfortable, heating, a tub, pretty large room and with added facility of being able to use the kitchen of the hostel.
Price was 140 Argentinian pesos/night (roughtly US$ 43.00) for the couple. It is quite well located, on the street that continues the stairs coming down from the Bus station a couple or three blocks away from the main avenue. If you want comfortable, cheap, new rooms (BUT NO FRILLS WHATSOEVER) Los dos Pinos was quite nice. Please note that I am talking of the NEW building. |
