hot springs in SMA

Soon going to San Miguel de Allende, and attempting to hear anyone's experience about the hot springs (la Gruta) nearby.

We visited La Gruta several years ago and loved it-- There is a large open-air pool, then you swim thru a small tunnel into a large "cave" which is actually a man-made geodesic dome-- There are a few small windows that allow in some light, but it's a wonderful, dim area with excellent mineral water--about 102F-- There are also great hot springs at a resort near Guanajuato-Leon aiport--(can't remember name of jotel off-hand) -
Enjoy your soak!

I have a hot tub/spa in my house in SMdA, but la Gruta is well regarded by the visitors.

We've been to La Gruta also and enjoyed it. Nothing fancy of course, but fun. A basic changing area. Some nice surrounding grounds for picnicing etc and as previous poster mentioned "a cave." Hardly anyone there when we went one February -- may have been a weekday.

my sister lives there and when I visit we go to La Gruta... it's great and usually not busy at all. Take a bus or taxi... buses go by often as it is on a main route. They have a wonderful water spout inside the man-made beehive cave that they turn on twice per day and it feels great on your back and shoulders. Good food and very good prices to eat. Never had a problem with sickness eating there either. Have fun!

Thanks for all of the comments! Been many times before, but never made the effort to go to La Gruta hot springs (I've been to La Gruta restaurant at Teotihuacan, but that's an entirely different experience, huh?).
