Honeymoon planning help in either Costa Rica or Belize?

Hi, I'm looking for reccommodations for where to stay in either Costa Rica or Belize? I am looking for white sand beaches and clear blue waters. I would like to stay in condo-like accomodations with a kitchenette. For anyone that has been to Aruba, how does the beaches compare? Based on my limited research, Manuel Antonio and Ambergris Caye might have what I'm looking for. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, will there be lots of rain during the end of July/beginning of August. Thanks in advance.

From our experience, having been twice to Costa Rica, you will not find Carribbean style beaches and water there. On the Pacific side, the beaches are beautiful but quite often they have high surf and the water is not clear. The only beach of the type you are describing that I saw in Costa Rica was Playa Conchal on a calm day (it is in Guanacaste, northwestern part of CR).
Manuel Antonio is very nice, and the main beach in the park has nice sand and water.
Villas Nicholas in Manuel Antonio may be what you are looking for in terms of accommodations.

We were to Jaco Beach on the pacific side of Costa Rica and the ocean was not real fit for swiming, more surfing. As for Belize, we stayed inland, and only went to the reef for a day, so I cannot help you out. Try doing a search, I know other people have commented on the beaches in Ambergis Caye. If you are interested in snorkeling, I can tell you that Belize is by far better than Aruba.

I went to costa rica for language study for 2 months and have gone there on various vacations with my family after. Manual Antiono for the beaches are nice, but you would be better if you want white beaches to go to the carribean like BVI or Aruba or Virgin Tortolla.

I stayed a villas nicholas and if you are looking for a decent place not on the beach and on a road that you can get to the beach by taxi, this is the place.

Have fun.
