Honeymoon help!
My fiance and I are getting married November 30. We were planning to go to Hawaii, but hear from many sources the weather is not great beach weather in the beiginning of December. So we are debating on the Caribbean(Antigua or St. Barth's???) Or the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You may want to consider the Tankah/Tulum area of the Maya Riviera. http://CasaTropical.com
Our villa, Casa Tropical is located on a 1/2 acre beachfront property in Tankah, 3 miles north of the famous Tulum ruins and a 1 hour drive south of the Cancun airport. Here you will find the perfect mix of privacy, adventure, romance, beautiful beaches and great restaurants . Go to bed listening to the waves just a few feet away, get up and watch the sun rise, snorkel, visit ancient ruins, sunbathe, visit authentic Mexican towns or drive to Cancun and Playa del Carmen for the day or night life.

Plan for your honeymoon to be an original, and not run of the mill. I've been to both Antigua and PDC, Mexico, so I can offer you some advice on both places.

Antigua is exotic and much more relaxed. It is a good place to go and literally get away from it all. The resorts there are not as luxurious as those in Mexico, but they are also smaller and offer much more personalized service. (The notable exception to this is Sandals, which is big and luxurious.) As for things to do on the island, it is fun to do a day tour, or to rent a jeep and go get lost. There are some excellent local restaurants (you DON'T need an all-inclusive here), and also the weekly party at Shirley Heights. We had a wonderful time there!

The Mayan Riviera was nice, too. We stayed at a typical all-inclusive resort and it was good. The food was mostly buffet style, and the drinks were kind of weak. There were tons of tours and things to do, and downtown PDC was just a $5 cab ride away.

I guess where you'd like to go really depends on what you'd rather have for a honeymoon. If you want laid-back with opprotunities for adventure, go to Antigua. If you want a more active vacation and an all-inclusive resort, go to Mexico.

I am a member at Moon Palace on the Mayan Riviera and it is gorgeous!! Wonderful beach, pools, delicious food, everything you can possibly imagine. It is an "all-inclusive" resort--all rooms have jacuzzi. Let me know if you want more details.
