HoneyMoon Concern!

I have suddenly realized that our honeymoon in Cozumel Mexico will be the same week as some of the Highschools' Spring Break. I'm worried that 1000s of drunken teenagers are going to annoy the crap out of us. Can anyone tell me if they have had any experiences w/ this? I hope that I am over-reacting.

Cozumel does get a lot of tourists, but it's not nearly as bad as Cancun. Cozumel doesn't have the beaches that Cancun has. I don't know if I've been there during spring break, but I've been there a few times and haven't noticed that it's a particularly popular spot for teenagers.

We visited Cancun during the college spring break in 2000. It was also MTV's Spring Break in Cancun festival. We had absolutely no problems with crowds or obnoxius college students. We spent time at our resort "Royal Sands Resort" and went on four all day tours which consisted of 1/2 day Ruin site seeing and 1/2 snorkeling. We loved our trip and had no idea of the "festivities" of the spring break crowd until we got home and saw it on MTV months later. OH MY GOD!!!!

I am considering Cancun/Playa del Carmen for vacation with my husband next spring (or Aruba) ... late April/early May. Would spend 4 nights in Cancun (probably at Le Meridien) and 5 nights in Playa (probably at Royal Hideaway). It's would be our first visit to Mexico so I want to see both areas.

My question is what area in Cancun tends to get the "spring breakers"? Is is just too crazy in town (end April/early May) ... should I avoid Cancun all together if going in spring time?

Cheryl--I think you are safe as you have picked "high end" hotels. The spring breakers are at the budget hotels, with 8 to a room!!
