Holiday Vacation in Akumal

Hi,

I am looking for a one bedroom condo for my husband and I in Akumal, from about December 23-December 30. We mostly want to relax, lay around the beach, pool, swim, and snorkel. Would like to have a unit that is beach front, but not an absolute requirement. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Visit the web site for Casa Tropical, beachfront villa 10 minute drive south of Akumal. http://CasaTropical.com

Other helpful web sites to visit for weather, Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, etc.
Weather http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/76590.html

Bookstore & recommended reading about Maya culture and archaeological sites
http://sites.netscape.net/tankah3g/almalibrelibros

Hidden Worlds snorkel & dive tours of cenotes
http://hiddenworlds.com.mx/

Maps of Riviera Maya Can-do Maps
http://WWW.cancunmap.com/

Check out this web site for tours lead by the Friends of Sian Ka'an group. Chris - check out hotelakumalcaribe.com as well.

Teresa - if this is your approach to travelling (to write off an entire destination due to one bad and unfortunate experience) then you better not go to:
St. Lucia - local nun was murdered on New Years day by local rebels.
Antigua - Canadian tourist was murdered on the beach several years ago. Young lady on the beach with her family and a purse snatcher ran out of the bushes but she struggled to keep her purse and he killed her.
Jamaica - well, recent travel advisories say it all.
Aruba - hmmm, don't recall any thefts or killings while we were there or reported since that but hey, I hear tell that that wind can be murder on the hairdos!
St. Kitts - lovely place - oops, now I remember someone ranting on our bus that some airport employee had stolen something out of his unlocked suitcase. Better not go there!
Cuba - well, it's just not 'marican to go there is it
Cozumel - love, love, love, love Cozumel. Oops, that's Mexico so ya better not go there!
Might as well just stay home in the good ole US of A where nothing bad happens to tourists! Yea, right!
Very funny, Debbie. You must work for these villas/resorts down in MEXICO! I feel I can share my experiences with people, just as you are and will continue to do so. These are warnings, so people can be more cautious. Is that a problem for you? Why are you being so defensive? If anyone would like to e-mail me, I would be more than happy to share what we are now calling our nightmare vacation to Mexico!
Teresa
