It's only that pricey if you want a/c. The other rooms are around $400.

And their incredible Jungle Camp is just $65/pp/nt including dinner and lunch - a steal! Illustrates the motto, 'to each his/her own' - we raised a family of backpackers so the Jungle Camp seemed like luxury to us, one of many highlights of our 1st trip to Belize 15 years ago.

volcanogirl, were you there in March? We also have slept no problem in Costa Rica with no a/c, but there's been an ocean breeze. I think for three nights we can deal with the heat and not sacrifice the overall experience. Booking Chaa Creek/Hatchet Caye combo. Can't wait! Thanks for all your help.

Sorry, I can't remember what month we were there. Everyone commented on the heat so it may have been an unusual situation. I still thought it was worth it though; we had a great time. They had a nice pool too. Food was good. Good guides, and they helped us book our tours.

Already looking forward to your trip report. :-)

I promise to write one, but it will be awhile. Hatchet Caye has so few rooms, which is why I'm booking this so far in advance. Hopefully no heat waves while we're there!
