Help with February 2009 Itinerary needed

Okay, we've booked our tickets so now our question is the Itinerary.

(Note: this is our second time in CR--the first time we did the Central Valley, Monteverde, a BRIEF stop in Arenal, and Montezuma)

So, here's what I'm thinking so far:

Day 1: Friday: Flight arrives in mid-afternoon--drive to La Selva/Selva Verde for night
Day 2: La Selva/Selva Verde
Day 3: La Selva/Selva Verde
Day 4: La Selva/Selva Verde
Day 5: Manuel Antonio
Day 6: Manuel Antonio
Day 7: Manuel Antonio
Day 8: ??????????
Day 9: Arenal
Day 10: Arenal
Day 11: Arenal
Day 12: Drive to airport for 3:45pm flight

So, the big question for us is what to do on day 8. The three options to me are:

1. Add another day to Manuel Antonio
2. Add another day to Arenal
3. Stop north of Jaco--check out Carrara Nat'l Park and maybe the big waterfall in the area

Any thoughts overall on the itinerary? What about day 8? Many thanks in advance!!!

You might spend a night at the Peace Lodge if you can get there early enough in the day to enjoy the grounds; we loved the hike to the 5 waterfalls.

We did the Waterfall Gardens last time, and LOVED it, so your recommendation makes sense.

But, we've seen it.

Thx though!

Okay, been there done that. I think you could easily add another day to Arenal - you have the ziplines like SkyTrek, the Cano Negro tour which takes the better part of a day, the Hanging Bridges, the waterfall, the hot springs like Eco Termales and Tabacon, volcano hiking - I think there's plenty to do there. We stayed at the Lost Iguana and really loved it.

We did Cano Negro last time. We only stayed two nights, and that took up one of the days.

That's one reason we're going back.

We're planning on staying at the AOL. The access to the park there--and the views--are stupendous (though the dinner at the restaurant SUCKS)

Has anyone done Carrara or the 600+ foot waterfall there?
