Hi Teri, <BR>There is a great website for Rio called www.ipanema.com. It gives information about most of the hotels in Rio (with prices) and you can make reservations online. <BR> <BR>I went to Rio in December and am planning a return trip for Jan '00. We stayed at The Inter-Continental which was about 10 minutes drive from Ipanema and 15 minutes from Copacabana. The hotel is great; has 3 pools, staff that speak English, and a delicious buffet breakfast. For our next trip, we are looking for a hotel in town. <BR> <BR>We used Continental Airlines (frequent flyer miles) which flies from Newark. My friend was able to buy a ticket via a consolidator for about $500 (Continental charged $1500!). <BR> <BR>Email me at [email protected] if you have any questions.
